Peace is not only a Goal on the Sustainable Agenda 2030 but also a need for many children who are currently victims of armed conflict. In particular, children are affected by 6 grave violations in such circumstances: Killing and maiming; recruitment for combat; sexual violence; abduction; victims of hospital and school attacks; denial of humanitarian aid.

IOLDCs believes that strong conflict prevention strategies, as well as peace-building measures, are an essential way to achieve durable sustainable development the full achievement of SDGs 1, 16 and 17.

Focusing in crisis-affected LDCs, IOLDCs brings to stakeholders' attentions recommendations to stop children’s recruitment, build peace and implement durable peace-building measures.
